Warning: Burnout Ahead!

Those last two years of high school can be grueling: you’ve got some of your toughest classes, exams, high-stakes tests, college and job applications, and everything that comes with them. If you’ve ever felt like you’re running on empty or constantly hitting roadblocks, we can help.

Step 1: Recognize the Signs
Check your internal dashboard for signs of burnout: exhaustion, irritability, lack of motivation, lack of appetite (or feeling insatiable), and difficulty concentrating. If these warning lights are flashing, it’s time to take action.

Step 2: Address the Burnout
Hit the brakes and give yourself permission for a rest stop. Accept that you really can’t do it all. If your tank is empty, you’re not going anywhere. Recharge by getting more sleep, eating healthy nutritious foods, and spending time with friends. Oh, and drink more water. Hydrate or die-drate, people!

Step 3: Seek Support
Don’t hesitate to call in reinforcements! Reach out to trusted allies like friends, family, or school counselors. Sharing your struggles can provide much-needed relief and guidance. You did not invent this, and you don’t have to cure it all by yourself.

Step 4: Set Boundaries and Manage Time
Take the wheel, set boundaries and manage your time effectively. Learn to say no to extra commitments and prioritize tasks. You can only get back on course if you avoid the same potholes that you fell in before.
